Before the end of the Beijing Olympic Games Tibhar's rubber experts prepared several new rubber samples for their top players such as Vladimir Samsonov, to test. In order for Samsonov and many other top players to make an smooth transition from the speed glue era to the new clean future, it was critical that any replacement rubbers provided the highest level of playing characteristics that they had been used to using. As soon as Samsonov returned from the Olympics he began testing these new rubber samples.
